AGC Goals

The AGC is commited to continue a long standing tradition of shooting sports in the Alleghany Highlands.

The AGC accomplishes this by having regular shooting matches. These matches are laid back and not pressure intensive to the shooters. The only pressure is that which the shooter puts on his/her self.

In addition to the matches, the club facilities allow for a number of recreational shooting activities. AGC encourages young shooters to enjoy shooting sports and safe firearms handling by allowing members to bring family members to the facility. Getting young shooters interested in shooting sports is vital to the future of these sports.

Be it from casual plinking to the impressive matches of the IR 50/50, there is something for all shooters at the AGC.

See you on the range!

History of Our Club

The AGC was formed in the early 1970's by a group of shooters wanting a nice facility to shoot their firearms. Over the years the AGC has hosted many types of matches. There has been IPSC, PPC, benchrest, claybirds, and others. During the later part of the 1980's and early 1990's there was a decline in match shooting at the AGC. Fortunately, the last few years has seen a resurgence of these matches. Ulike in the past where one disipline was the focus of these matches, now there are many types of matches for people to participate in. At some point during the year there will be something of interest for all shooters.

Please keep up with the schedule and watch for that match that interests you. If you have any sugestions for posible matches or questions about current matches, drop us a line at our e-mail address at the bottom of any page.
