GENERAL RULES AND PROCEDURES
Shooters will be called to the line in order from a sign up sheet. A table will be provided behind the firing line for shooters to place their loading trays, extra speed loaders, etc. Once all shooters for a relay have come onto the firing line the Range Officer will issue a command to load and make ready. At this time shooters may unholster their weapons, load them, and reholster in addition to making any other preparations that need to make before shooting. Each shooter will signal that they are ready to the Range Officer by raising their right hand. Once all shooters on the line have signaled that they are ready the RO will give a command to stand by. At this time shooters should immediately be alert for the start command. The shooter may stand in any manner that they desire at this time, but their hands may not touch their holster or weapon until the start command is given. The start command will be given in the form of a blown whistle. When shooters hear the start command they may draw their weapons and commence firing. When time has elapsed the RO will again blow a whistle. This is a command to cease fire. At this time shooters should stop firing, unload their weapons (this includes the magazines of semi auto pistols) and leave the actions open for the RO to see. Once the RO has verified that the weapons are clear the shooters should reholster their weapons and raise both hands into the air in what is known as the surrender position. At this time they may leave the firing line.
